Hi everyone! My name is Eleonora Spricigo and I was born in Conegliano (Italy) in 1990.

Education

I hold a Bachelor degree and a Master degree in mechanical engineering at University of Udine (Italy). I have always been interested in fluid dynamics, so during my B.Sc. I worked on a project dealing with the calculation of the friction factor in non-Newtonian fluids in capillary flows. Moreover, I carried out an in-depth study of turbulent flows. In July 2019 I joined MSCA-ITN-EID COMETE as a Ph.D. student at IMP PAN, a research institute in Gdansk (Poland).

Research

The goal of the COMETE project is to improve the physical modelling of multiphase flows for better computations, focusing on fluid-fluid interfaces and dispersed phase. I'm working on Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH), an emerging scientific lagrangian method, to further develop the already existing in-house code. The ultimate aim of my research is to make possible the knowledge transfer from academia to industry and vice versa.
