The scientific programme includes 8 keynote talks and regular talks,
all given by outstanding researchers on topics of broad interest to the
dispersed multiphase flow community.
Information for speakers:
The Symposium will be held using the Zoom platform.
Please, let us know in case you have never used Zoom and need assistance.
Zoom offers the possibility of testing the platform (h0ttps://zoom.us/test).
The BICTAM staff is currently setting up the online Zoom meeting (max. 300
participants) and a website for the live streaming of the talks. There will
also be a dedicated Zoom testing room, which will be made available to
registered participants a few days before the Symposium.
Instructions to access the meeting and the testing room will be posted in
this page and sent to participoants by e-mail later on.
Keynote talks will be assigned 25 minutes for presentation, and
additional 5 minutes for questions and change of speaker.
Regular contributed talks will be assigned 12 minutes for presentation, and
additional 3 minutes for questions and change of speaker.
The Question and Answer session will follow each presentation.
Questions may be asked directly or through the chat (in this case the
session chairperson will read the questions).
In view of the tight schedule, we strongly recommend to strictly maintain the timing.
Speakers will use their own computer for the presentation, sharing the screen (or the presentation) through Zoom.
Please plan to join the meeting at least 30 minutes before the talk in case there are any issues that need to be worked out.
Hints and Tips for a Successful Presentation:
• Test your Zoom connection ahead of time, especially your audio and video
• Ensure your microphone, headphone or speakerphone is near you
• Mute your Zoom session or phone when not in use
• Avoid bright lights and windows behind you
• Good light in front of you (on your face) will provide for a better image
• Test any virtual backgrounds to ensure there are no video irregularities
