Files in these folders refer to DNS test case calculation of particle-laden turbulent channel flow at Re_tau=150. Data were produced by group UUD (Marchioli C. and Soldati A.) Reference paper: C. Marchioli, A. Soldati, J.G.M. Kuerten, B. Arcen, A. Taniere, G. Goldensoph, K.D. Squires, M.F. Cargnelutti, and L.M. Portela (2008) ``Statistics of particle dispersion in direct numerical simulations of wall-bounded turbulence: results of an international collaborative benchmark test,'' Int. J. Multiphase Flow, vol. 34, pp. 879-893. FOLDERS: Stokes=1: contains raw data for Lagrangian Particle Tracking (LPT) of heavy particles with Stokes number St=1. Stokes=5: contains raw data for LPT of heavy particles with St=5. Stokes=25: contains raw data for LPT of heavy particles with St=25. NOTE FOR USERS: velpar files from time step 670700 to 676500 for the St=25 particles are not available because they appear corrupted in the CDROM where they are stored. Sorry for the inconvenience. "pospar" and "velpar" files are ASCII files that contain the instantaneous particle position and velocity components in the streamwise, spanwise and wall-normal direction (1st, 2nd and 3rd row, respectively). Each line in these files refers to one individual particle. The total number of tracked particles is 100,000. The number attached to "pospar"/"velpar" is the time step to which position and velocity refer. Particle tracking started at time step 200,000. "pospar" and "velpar" files go from time step 585,000 (t+=17,325 after injection, in wall units) to time step 676,500 (t+=21,442 after injection) and thus cover a time window DT+=4117 (the time step size is dt+=0.045). Files are provided every 50 time steps, so the time lapse between successive files is Dt+=22.5 in wall units. C. Marchioli - June 26, 2012. PS: fluid velocities at the same time steps of particle position/velocity are not provided since they are only available in the form of binary files. Such files can be made available upon request (marchioli@uniud.it).
